What do you hope for your child?
There's a quiet pressure every parent in Singapore knows.
To optimise and enrich. To make sure no minute is wasted, no milestone missed.
Decades of early childhood research is clear: secure, curious, play-led children build stronger neural pathways, deeper resilience, and more sustainable academic confidence than those rushed through rote learning.
We didn't invent this, we just refused to abandon it.
What we offer is this:
a place that chooses presence over pressure, and substance over shortcuts. So that they get to be little, for a little longer.
Because when we protect childhood,
we aren't pausing their potential.
We are fueling it.
What People Are Saying
“He looked excited and curious, something he hadn't seemed to feel in other school tours. Now, a few months on, my child is so happy and well-regulated during pick-ups and talks about his friends and teachers at night and at the weekend.”
— Sunaina“The environment is truly special, a real grass outdoor area where children can explore nature, rain, and even earthworms! It's wonderful to see kids learning through curiosity and discovery in such a natural setting.”
— Eugene“My 3 grandchildren go to this school since young, and all love it. They come home singing songs in Chinese and English, and their vocabulary keeps growing every week.”
— TerenceAt Wonder Yard Schoolhouse,
we're building upon a heritage of 17 years, proving that children who are allowed to:
play,
wonder,
and feel safe
become the most capable learners of all.

Wonder Yard Schoolhouse is a Parent-Owned, Play-Based Community of families and educators for Early Learners in Singapore.
We are a micro-school by design, believing in small ratios to ensure every child gets the individualized attention they deserve. This allows our educators to truly understand and nurture every child's interests and abilities at their pace. -
Play-based learning doesn't mean learning nothing! It means our educators follow the lead and interests of the children, and intentionally design environments and activities that teach foundational skills (like early math, literacy, and social-emotional regulation) through hands-on explorations that feel like play.
Research shows that children learn best when they are actively engaged, meaning they will be more prepared for primary school and life beyond because they grow a love for learning and lifelong curiosity.

Yes. Every class has its own dedicated Chinese teacher and English teacher.
During Chinese blocks, everything happens in Mandarin. Children switch between both languages naturally all day. Formal lessons follow MOE Primary and China's standards, so they build real fluency in real daily situations, not just flashcard memory.

Calm coaching and clear firm boundaries, never shaming.
Meltdowns are normal at this age. Our teachers stay calm, name the feelings, and guide children to fix their mistakes and take responsibility. With small class ratios, teachers truly know them and have time to actually sit with your child, not just manage the crowd.
You'll always know what happened with real-time app updates, weekly reports, and real stories at pick-up (not just a "she was fine") .
More on our approach here -
We are open 7am–7pm for drop-off and pick-up. Programme runs 9am–5pm.
Children start their morning in our library, a cosy room with a book collection we refresh every week. Children unpack their bags to get ready for the day, upon arrival. From there, it's outdoor time, cool down with fruits and refreshments. Then learning blocks with the English and Chinese teachers, lunch, and nap for the younger ones.
Through the week, there's plenty of hands-on play too. Sensory play with loose parts, music enrichment on Wednesdays, and a big messy play session every Friday morning.
